Shift Type: Rotating 3x12-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM, schedule includes every-other-weekend coverage (day shift)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert ventilator management for NICU and adult patients, including weaning and high-frequency oscillator support
- Perform advanced airway management independently, including neonatal intubation and extubation
- Administer and monitor respiratory medications and aerosol therapies safely and effectively
- Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and basic EKGs to guide clinical decisions
- Operate and troubleshoot ventilators such as Draeger and Servo I and respond to high-pressure alarms
- Float between NICU and adult units as needed and provide consistent, high-quality care across patient populations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including RT, nursing, physicians, pharmacy, and physical therapy to optimize patient outcomes
- Document care accurately in EPIC and participate in orientation (24 hours) to get up to speed quickly
Qualifications
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- Washington state license required
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory care experience, including BOTH NICU and adult critical care experience
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS
- EPIC experience required for documentation and charting
- Ability and willingness to float to other campuses and cover NICU and adult patient populations
- First-time travelers are accepted; note: previous Providence-perm employees must be separated from the system for a minimum of 3 months to qualify
Knowledge & Skills
- Ventilator management (BiPAP, CPAP, HFOV/high frequency oscillator, high frequency jet ventilator)
- Experience with Draeger and Servo I ventilators
- Airway management including direct neonatal intubation and tracheostomy care
- Nebulizer and aerosol delivery systems (cold, heated, ultrasonic, T-piece, trach collar, MDI, Medihaler)
- Medication administration familiarity (albuterol, racemic epi, nitric oxide, tobramycin and more)
- ABG interpretation and basic EKG competency
- High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), NIV/NAVA experience, and troubleshooting high pressure alarms
- Pulmonary Function Test Lab experience preferred
