Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit
• Monitor vital signs and assess patients recovering from anesthesia
• Manage pain and administer medications as prescribed
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe patient transitions
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care
• Document patient care accurately and timely

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Louisiana
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of PACU experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of PACU nursing protocols
• Proficiency in monitoring and interpreting vital signs
• Expertise in pain management techniques
• Ability to respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Familiarity with electronic health records
