Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, specialized nursing care to pediatric patients before, during, and after surgery
• Prepare the operating room and ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are sterile and ready
• Assist surgeons and anesthesia providers during procedures while maintaining a safe environment
• Monitor patients closely and respond quickly to any changes in status
• Collaborate with the perioperative team to coordinate care and ensure positive outcomes
• Document accurately and communicate clearly with patients, families, and team members

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Pennsylvania or a compact state
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• PALS certification strongly preferred
• Previous OR or pediatric nursing experience is a plus
• Ability to work flexible per diem shifts

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of surgical aseptic technique and sterile field management
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Comfortable working with pediatric patients and their families
• Ability to stay calm and focused in fast-paced situations
