Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide thorough dental cleanings and periodontal care to patients
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
• Take and interpret dental X-rays to assist in diagnosis
• Assist the dentist during procedures and ensure patient comfort
• Maintain strict sterilization and infection control standards
• Document patient care accurately in dental records

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
• Strong patient communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the dental team
• Experience in clinical dental hygiene practice

Education

• Associate degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
• Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental anatomy, radiography, and periodontal disease
• Proficiency in dental hygiene instruments and equipment
• Understanding of infection control and OSHA standards
• Familiarity with dental software for charting and documentation
• Patient education and motivational interviewing skills
