Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver expert perioperative nursing care to pediatric patients in the operating room
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams to ensure safe, efficient procedures
• Perform patient assessments and prepare patients and families for surgery
• Assist with circulating and scrub duties as needed
• Monitor vital signs and patient status throughout the perioperative period
• Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control protocols
• Document care accurately and advocate for each patient's comfort and safety

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or a compact state
• Previous operating room experience preferred; pediatric experience is a plus
• Current BLS/CPR certification required
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing schedules and patient needs

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of perioperative nursing standards and best practices
• Familiarity with surgical instruments, sterile techniques, and OR protocols
• Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment
• Excellent patient and family communication skills
• Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Comfort with electronic health records and documentation
