Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns during labor and delivery
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs throughout the birthing process
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and emergency interventions
• Educate patients and families on postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe outcomes
• Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to hospital policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
• BLS, NRP, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience preferred
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills
• Ability to float to other units or care sites as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of maternal-fetal medicine and obstetrical emergencies
• Proficiency in electronic fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Ability to perform sterile techniques and assist in surgical procedures
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills in high-stress situations
