Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based critical care nursing to adult ICU patients, making a real difference in complex cases
• Continuously monitor and assess patients, interpreting alarms, labs, and hemodynamic data to guide timely interventions
• Manage ventilators, vasoactive drips, advanced monitoring, and complex IV therapy with accuracy and confidence
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists — to coordinate safe, patient-centered care
• Float to PCU or Med-Surg as needed and seamlessly adapt your care approach across units
• Document assessments and interventions clearly and promptly to support continuity of care
• Provide compassionate education and support to patients and families during high-stress moments

Qualifications

• Active Hawaii RN license required prior to start of contract (this is non-negotiable — get that license ready!)
• ICU / critical care nursing experience — ready to manage high-acuity patients
• Ability to float to PCU and Med-Surg when census requires
• Willingness to work consecutive weekends when needed
• Comfort and experience working 12-hour rotating shifts
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program required (ADN/ASN or BSN)
• Degree aligned with RN licensure requirements in Hawaii

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment skills for unstable and critically ill patients
• Proficiency with ventilator management and advanced monitoring devices
• Medication administration expertise, including titration of vasoactive drips
• Excellent clinical judgment, prioritization, and time-management in high-pressure situations
• Clear communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary care teams
• Adaptability to float between ICU, PCU, and Med-Surg settings
