Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms and instruments so every orthodontic visit runs smoothly
• Assist the orthodontist chairside with bracket placement, wire changes, and adjustments
• Take dental radiographs and intraoral scans with accuracy and care
• Fit and adjust orthodontic appliances, retainers, and bands
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and appliance care so they leave smiling
• Keep sterilization and infection control standards rock solid
• Document patient charts and treatment notes with precision
• Welcome patients warmly and help them feel at ease throughout their visit

Qualifications

• Active Orthodontic certification (this one is a must-have)
• Dental Assistant experience, ideally in an orthodontic setting
• Current dental radiography/X-ray credentials where required by the state
• Comfortable working afternoon to evening hours, 1:30 PM - 9:00 PM
• Strong communication skills and a genuine care for patients
• Team player mindset with a positive, can-do attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Orthodontic chairside assisting techniques
• Knowledge of braces, aligners, retainers, and orthodontic hardware
• Dental radiography and imaging basics
• Sterilization and infection control best practices
• Dental software and charting familiarity
• Patient education and rapport building
• Time management in a busy clinical schedule
