Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for every patient.
- Assist the orthodontist during exams and procedures, handing off tools and keeping everything running smoothly.
- Take dental radiographs and intraoral scans with precision and care.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic care, answering questions with a friendly touch.
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage supplies so the practice never misses a beat.
- Follow strict infection control protocols to keep patients and team members healthy.
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential required, with a current Maryland license or certification.
- Orthodontic assisting experience preferred, but we are happy to train the right certified candidate.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety and cleanliness.
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and dental terminology.
- Skilled in dental radiography and intraoral scanning.
- Understanding of infection control and sterilization best practices.
- Excellent patient care and customer service abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
