Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth patient flow
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment to maintain a safe environment
• Take and develop dental X-rays with precision and care
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment plans
• Provide excellent chair-side support to keep patients comfortable and informed

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA, RDA, or equivalent) strongly preferred
• Current radiology/X-ray certification in Maryland (or ability to obtain)
• Previous experience in orthodontics is a plus
• Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-first mindset
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy practice
• Current CPR/BLS certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic tools, appliances, and procedures
• Proficiency with dental practice management software (Denticon experience is a bonus)
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively with the dental team
• Commitment to maintaining infection control standards
