Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate respiratory care to patients in a hospital setting
• Administer respiratory treatments, therapies, and medications
• Monitor and manage mechanical ventilation for critically ill patients
• Collaborate with nurses and physicians to develop and adjust care plans
• Educate patients and families on respiratory health management
• Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results to guide treatment

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Therapist license in the state of Iowa
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Prior experience in acute care or hospital-based respiratory therapy
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every 3rd weekend
• Strong critical thinking and patient assessment skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in respiratory therapy procedures and protocols
• Knowledge of mechanical ventilation and airway management
• Skill in patient assessment and monitoring
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities
