Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, evaluate, and treat patients with respiratory disorders
• Administer respiratory therapy treatments and medications as ordered
• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilators for critically ill patients
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care and home management
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and adjust care plans
• Document patient progress and response to therapy accurately

Qualifications

• Current Iowa Respiratory Therapist license (or eligibility)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Prior experience in acute care respiratory therapy preferred
• Ability to work night shifts and every 3rd weekend
• Strong critical thinking and patient assessment skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures and equipment
• Skilled in ventilator management and oxygen therapy
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR)
• Compassionate patient-centered approach
