Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during exams and procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and operatories to maintain the highest standards of safety and hygiene
• Take and develop dental X-rays as directed, following all safety protocols
• Educate patients and families on oral care and treatment plans in a warm, approachable way
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with appointment scheduling using dental software
• Ensure treatment rooms are fully stocked and ready for each patient visit

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant certification (or willing to obtain)
• Valid X-ray certification in the state of Maryland
• CPR/BLS certification
• Previous orthodontic assisting experience is preferred, but we are happy to train the right candidate
• Strong attention to detail and a friendly, patient-first attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and dental terminology
• Proficient in dental practice management software (e.g., Denticon)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit team
• Understanding of infection control and sterilization protocols
