Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all instruments are sterilized and ready for patient care
• Assist the orthodontist during procedures, providing smooth and efficient support
• Take and develop dental x-rays to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
• Educate patients on orthodontic care, including oral hygiene and appliance maintenance
• Maintain accurate patient records while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations

Qualifications

• Valid Dental Assistant certification in Maryland (or as required by state law)
• Current CPR certification
• Previous orthodontic or dental assisting experience strongly preferred
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Attention to detail and excellent communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and sterilization protocols
• Proficiency in dental software for charting and scheduling
• Strong interpersonal skills to put patients at ease
• Understanding of OSHA and infection control standards
