Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments for Veterans
• Conduct structured clinical interviews to capture relevant history and symptoms
• Perform focused physical assessments including range of motion and muscle strength testing
• Complete clear, thorough medical reports and timely addendums per VES protocols
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow all credentialing, compliance, and privacy guidelines
• Participate in required onboarding and training to meet program standards
• Communicate findings professionally with VES administrative staff and other stakeholders
• Manage time effectively to complete exams and necessary follow-up administrative work

Qualifications

• Active Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice (state license required)
• Clinical background in general medicine such as Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Orthopedics preferred
• Experience with Compensation & Pension exams or separation health assessments preferred
• Comfortable performing interview-based exams and focused physical assessments (ROM, strength testing)
• Ability to work PRN / per diem and be within the 50-mile radius for assigned locations or have an office within that radius
• Willingness to complete required VES onboarding and training

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled clinical interviewing and focused physical examination techniques
• Range of motion testing and muscle strength assessment
• Strong medical report writing skills, including producing addendums
• Good documentation practices and ability to follow program protocols
• Professional communication with Veterans and interdisciplinary teams
• Time management to complete exams and associated administrative tasks
