Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Diagnostic Imaging
Location: Carbondale, IL
Start Date: 08-10-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (Days); on-call 1 week per month
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $83 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals, and perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures using state-of-the-art equipment.
- Work closely with physicians to capture high-quality images that help guide accurate diagnoses.
- Ensure patient safety by following radiation protection standards and quality control procedures.
- Maintain and operate imaging equipment, troubleshooting issues and documenting procedures in the EMR (Point Click).
- Educate patients on imaging procedures, answering questions and easing concerns with a caring bedside manner.
Qualifications
- Active state license as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist - must be currently active.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in nuclear medicine within a medical imaging environment.
- Experience specifically in nuclear medicine; general lab tech experience does not qualify.
- Ability to pass a background check and meet facility credentialing requirements.
- Commitment to providing compassionate patient care.
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in operating nuclear medicine imaging equipment and gamma cameras.
- Knowledge of radiopharmaceutical preparation and safe handling practices.
- Familiarity with EMR systems, including Point Click.
- Understanding of radiation safety and quality assurance standards.
- Strong communication and patient interaction skills.
