Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and process tissue specimens for microscopic examination with precision
• Perform embedding, microtomy, and routine and special staining procedures
• Ensure proper labeling, fixation, and documentation of all specimens
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain histology laboratory equipment
• Collaborate with pathologists and laboratory team members to deliver accurate diagnostic results
• Follow quality control and safety protocols to maintain a reliable lab environment

Qualifications

• ASCP certification as Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL), or equivalent certification
• Prior experience in a histology laboratory is highly valued
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under deadlines
• Proficiency with laboratory information systems, including EPIC, is a plus
• Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspace

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and H&E staining techniques
• Knowledge of laboratory safety, infection control, and quality assurance practices
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system and laboratory information systems
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
