Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric patients, supporting dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
• Support rehabilitation staff by following care plans and encouraging patient participation
• Document care accurately and communicate clearly with nurses, therapists, and families
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols

Qualifications

• GNA certification or equivalent required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
• Comfortable assisting with transfers and physical care; ability to follow care plans
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of ADLs and basic geriatric care needs
• Skill in taking and documenting vital signs and observations
• Familiarity with infection prevention and safe patient handling
• Clear communication and rapport-building with elders and family members
• Basic charting and documentation skills
