Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Lanham, MD
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem, Night shift, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (days vary)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and support to geriatric patients
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting)
- Safely transfer and ambulate patients, using proper body mechanics
- Observe and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team
- Maintain a clean, safe, and dignified environment for residents
- Document care and interactions accurately and promptly
Qualifications
- Valid GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred
- Ability to work night shifts and flexible per diem schedules
- Proof of required immunizations and a clear background check
- Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-centered attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of ADLs and geriatric care best practices
- Skill in safe patient transfers and mobility assistance
- Infection control and basic hygiene protocols
- Clear, respectful communication with residents and team members
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Observation skills to notice and escalate changes in condition
