Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (days vary), 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Day

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate hands-on care to support daily living activities for residents
Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting while preserving dignity
Support safe mobility and transfers following facility protocols
Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
Help create a warm, respectful atmosphere that promotes resident comfort
Participate in team huddles and follow individualized care plans

Qualifications

Active/valid GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification as required by the state
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Comfortable working with older adults and supporting their physical and emotional needs
Strong communication and teamwork skills; dependable and punctual
Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living a plus

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an approved GNA program required

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and safety practices
Skill in assisting with ADLs (activities of daily living)
Ability to follow care plans and accurately document observations
Gentle, patient approach to dementia-related behaviors and mobility support
Basic infection control and hand hygiene practices
