Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living for geriatric residents
• Assist with bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and mobility support with dignity and respect
• Monitor resident condition and report changes in health or behavior to nursing staff promptly
• Take and record vital signs and assist with basic clinical observations as directed
• Document care activities accurately and maintain clear communication with the care team
• Support a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents, including safe transfer and positioning
• Engage residents in meaningful social interaction and encourage independence whenever possible

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) in good standing
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
• Reliable, compassionate, with strong communication and teamwork skills
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and resident-centered approaches
• Skilled in ADL assistance, safe transfer and lifting techniques
• Basic knowledge of infection control and hygiene practices
• Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs and observations
• Good interpersonal skills for interacting with residents and families
• Ability to follow care plans and work collaboratively with nursing staff
