Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain endoscopy procedure rooms and equipment with meticulous attention to safety and infection control
• Assist physicians and nursing staff during GI procedures, anticipating needs and ensuring smooth workflow
• Perform patient prep and monitoring, providing compassionate support and clear communication
• Decontaminate, disinfect, and properly store endoscopic instruments following protocol
• Document procedures, instrument tracking, and patient information accurately and promptly
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and clinical efficiency

Qualifications

• Certified Endoscopy Technician or completion of an accredited endoscopy tech program preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or available by orientation
• Experience working in a GI/endoscopy setting preferred; adaptable new grads with relevant clinical experience are encouraged to apply
• Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach
• Ability to reliably cover scheduled call rotations, including every-other-weekend (EOW)

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a formal endoscopy tech program or relevant allied health training preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with endoscopic instruments, scopes, and reprocessing procedures
• Understanding of sterile technique and infection prevention standards
• Comfortable assisting with patient positioning, monitoring vitals, and supporting sedation processes
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in fast-paced procedural suites
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to prioritize and multitask under pressure
