Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform professional dental cleanings and prophylaxis to maintain optimal oral health
• Take and interpret dental x-rays to assist in diagnosis
• Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
• Assist the dentist during procedures and provide patient comfort
• Document patient care and update dental records accurately
• Prepare and sterilize instruments to ensure a safe environment

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program
• Experience in a clinical dental setting preferred
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in dental hygiene procedures and techniques
• Knowledge of dental software for charting and scheduling
• Understanding of infection control and OSHA standards
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with patients
