Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during pediatric dental procedures, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience for young patients
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and treatment rooms between patients
• Take and develop dental X-rays as directed by the dentist
• Provide parents and children with clear instructions on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Maintain accurate patient records, charts, and treatment notes
• Stock operatories and prepare materials needed for each procedure

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant certification or licensure in the state of Wisconsin (as required by state regulations)
• Prior experience working as a dental assistant, ideally with pediatric or family dentistry
• Radiography/X-ray certification in Wisconsin or ability to obtain
• BLS/CPR certification preferred
• Comfortable working with children and making them feel at ease
• Ability to adapt quickly to a new setting and start assignments promptly

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and sterilization protocols
• Chairside manner that puts patients (and parents!) at ease
• Understanding of infection control and OSHA standards
• Familiarity with dental practice management software and charting
• Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude
• Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
