Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dental hygiene assessments and evaluate patient oral health
• Provide personalized preventive care education and oral hygiene instruction
• Take and develop dental X-rays for diagnostic purposes
• Administer local anesthesia and deliver scaling, root planing, and polishing treatments
• Assist the dentist during procedures and maintain a sterile, organized operatory
• Document patient care, treatment plans, and medical histories accurately

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia
• Current CPR or BLS certification
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for patient interactions
• Experience in a dental practice setting preferred
• Ability to collaborate effectively with the dental team

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, and sterilization protocols
• Proficient in patient charting and electronic dental records
• Detail-oriented with excellent infection control practices
• Skilled in educating patients on oral health and preventive care
