Roles & Responsibilities

• Float between MedSurg Tele and PCU units across both campuses
• Provide high-quality nursing care to stepdown and telemetry patients
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and monitor strips
• Titrate drips such as Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin
• Care for post-cardiac catheterization, post-MI, and post-CABG patients
• Collaborate with charge nurses and nurse aides to ensure safe patient outcomes
• Adapt quickly to different units and patient assignments

Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of PCU experience
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam with 80% within two attempts
• Comfortable managing titratable drips
• Willing to float between campuses (20-25 minutes apart)

Knowledge & Skills

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
• Telemetry interpretation
• Drip titration for common cardiac medications
• Experience with Cerner charting
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and flexibility
