Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population across ICU, PCU, and Medical-Surgical levels of care.
• Monitor and titrate critical infusions including sedation, vasopressors, and insulin to ensure patient stability.
• Perform and interpret 12-lead EKGs, and monitor telemetry for PCU and MST patients.
• Collaborate with the charge nurse and multidisciplinary team to manage a 10-bed acuity adaptable unit.
• Float to other units as needed to maintain competency and support the team, including pediatric and West Campus ICU/PCU.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (or compact license) with the ability to submit to the state board
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required
• At least 2 years of ICU experience, or 1 year ICU plus 1 year PCU/Med Surg in larger facilities
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam with 80% or higher within two attempts prior to contract
• Experience with Cerner charting system is a plus
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills

Knowledge & Skills

• ACLS and BLS certified
• Proficient in Cerner EMR
• Skilled in drip titration (sedation, vasopressors, insulin)
• Able to perform 12-lead EKGs and read telemetry strips
• Strong assessment and critical thinking abilities
• Experience with PCU and Med Surg patient populations
