Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide thorough dental cleanings and scaling to promote oral health
• Assess patients' oral health and identify areas of concern
• Educate patients on proper brushing, flossing, and nutrition for healthy smiles
• Take and develop dental X-rays as needed
• Document patient care accurately and maintain confidentiality
• Collaborate with dentists to ensure comprehensive treatment

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia
• Current CPR/BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program
• Excellent communication and patient education skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient care and chairside manner
• Periodontal therapy and scaling techniques
• Sterilization and infection control protocols
• Radiography and X-ray safety
• Time management and adaptability
