Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy services under the supervision of the OT team to help patients regain independence
• Perform patient assessments and contribute to individualized treatment plans
• Deliver therapeutic interventions and adaptive techniques tailored to each patient
• Document patient progress, treatment notes, and discharge planning accurately and timely
• Educate patients and families on strategies, adaptive equipment, and home programs to support carryover
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and facility staff to ensure coordinated care and positive outcomes
• Participate in team meetings and contribute clinical insights to improve patient care

Qualifications

• Active COTA / Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant credential (required)
• Current, unrestricted ability to work in California (facility may require state-specific registration or licensure)
• Strong clinical skills in therapeutic techniques and patient-centered care
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Willingness to work the scheduled day shifts including weekends as outlined

Education

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or equivalent from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of occupational therapy principles and adaptive approaches
• Competence with patient assessment, treatment planning, and progress documentation
• Ability to instruct patients and caregivers in home programs and adaptive equipment
• Familiarity with infection control, safety protocols, and clinical documentation standards
• Team-oriented mindset and strong interpersonal skills
