Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Brooklyn Park, MD
Shift Type: Schedule varies, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC (night shift)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting while preserving dignity
- Take and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team
- Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
- Document care accurately and communicate observations to nurses and supervisors
- Create a warm, respectful environment that promotes resident well being
- Follow infection control, safety policies and facility procedures at all times
- Participate in team huddles and training to continuously improve resident care
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification required
- Current CPR or BLS certification preferred or obtainable on hire
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Prior experience with geriatric or long term care populations is a plus
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- GNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of activities of daily living and elder care best practices
- Skill in safe resident handling and transfer techniques
- Ability to measure and record vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with basic charting and documentation
- Understanding of infection prevention and safety protocols
- Compassion, patience and strong interpersonal skills
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
