Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting while preserving dignity
• Take and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
• Document care accurately and communicate observations to nurses and supervisors
• Create a warm, respectful environment that promotes resident well being
• Follow infection control, safety policies and facility procedures at all times
• Participate in team huddles and training to continuously improve resident care

Qualifications

• Valid GNA certification required
• Current CPR or BLS certification preferred or obtainable on hire
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Prior experience with geriatric or long term care populations is a plus
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living and elder care best practices
• Skill in safe resident handling and transfer techniques
• Ability to measure and record vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with basic charting and documentation
• Understanding of infection prevention and safety protocols
• Compassion, patience and strong interpersonal skills
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
