Roles & Responsibilities
Lead and manage the surgical services team to deliver safe, high-quality perioperative care
Oversee daily operations of surgical services, ensuring efficient workflows and patient-centered processes
Supervise staff and delegate duties to maintain high standards of care and operational efficiency
Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia, nursing and ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes
Implement short- and long-term solutions to operational challenges and clinical issues
Maintain composure and direct appropriate immediate responses during true emergencies
Support staff development through coaching, mentoring and performance feedback
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and proper handling of hazardous materials
Qualifications
Current California RN license (required)
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required)
Bachelor degree or equivalent (required)
Minimum of 5 years RN experience, including at least 2 years as a circulating RN in surgery (required)
Current AHA BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications (required)
CNOR certification (preferred)
One year of Post-Anesthesia Care (PACU) experience (preferred)
Previous leadership, supervisory or management experience (preferred)
Strong written and oral English communication skills (required)
Education
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Bachelor degree or equivalent

Perioperative nursing and circulating RN expertise
Surgical services management and operational oversight
Staff supervision, delegation and team leadership
Patient-centered care and post-anesthesia knowledge
Emergency response, crisis composure and triage coordination
Problem identification, root cause analysis and implementation of solutions
Clear verbal and written communication with multidisciplinary teams
Awareness of regulatory and safety practices related to hazardous materials
