Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality labor and delivery nursing care for antepartum, intrapartum and immediate postpartum patients
• Manage postpartum care including patient education, assessments, and supportive recovery interventions
• Assist and support obstetric procedures such as C-sections, vaginal assisted deliveries, versions (external cephalic version) and D&Cs as needed
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in EMR systems (CPN, Meditech, Beacon)
• Adhere to AWHONN guidelines to ensure safe patient-to-staff ratios and evidence-based practices
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, CNAs and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate seamless patient care
• Act as a dependable resource on night shift, maintaining calm, clear communication and quality outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to practice in Colorado preferred)
• Demonstrated labor and delivery (L&D) experience — required
• Postpartum nursing experience — required
• Experience supporting or assisting with C-sections, vaginal assisted deliveries, versions and D&C procedures
• Familiarity with EMR systems: CPN and Meditech; Beacon experience is a plus
• Knowledge of and adherence to AWHONN guidelines
• Travel RN experience and previous charge RN experience are desirable

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• BSN preferred where available

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical skills in L&D and postpartum care
• Able to manage 1:1 to 1:2 labor ratios and up to 3:1 postpartum per AWHONN guidance
• Comfortable assisting in operating room and delivery procedures
• Proficient documentation and charting in CPN and Meditech (Beacon experience helpful)
• Good situational awareness, triage and escalation skills
• Flexible, adaptable, calm under pressure and a team-first mindset
