Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, 3x12 (11:00 AM - 11:00 PM); includes every 8th weekend and 2-3 weeknight on-call shifts per month with a 20-minute response time when placed on call (day shift primary, occasional night/on-call coverage required)

Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Maintain a sterile field and prepare the OR for a wide variety of surgical cases
• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments efficiently to keep cases moving
• Safely handle and care for scopes, fiber optics, electrosurgical units and other specialized equipment
• Support robotic and laparoscopic procedures, including Da Vinci Xi cases when needed
• Respond quickly and calmly for trauma and neurosurgical cases while on call
• Document procedures accurately in Epic and communicate effectively with the care team
• Assist with room turnover, case cart and crash cart readiness to ensure patient safety

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or completion of an accredited surgical technologist program preferred
• NBSTSA certification preferred; BLS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of OR experience (neurosurgery experience preferred)
• Familiarity with Epic charting is preferred
• Robotic surgery/Da Vinci Xi experience a plus
• Ability to meet a 20-minute on-call response time and work every 8th weekend

Education

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent training
• CST or NBSTSA certification preferred; BLS required

Knowledge & Skills

• Aseptic technique and sharps safety
• Specimen handling and labeling
• Care of scopes and fiber optic equipment
• Electrosurgical units, case cart and crash cart management
• Laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgical procedures
• Trauma, vascular, neuro, ortho and general surgery familiarity
• Strong teamwork, communication and ability to perform under pressure
