Surgical Scrub Tech
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Start Date: 02-23-2026
End Date: 05-24-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating weekends and holidays, 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM, open to 4 10-hour shifts or 3 12-hour shifts
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $28 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and ensure all surgical instruments and supplies are ready for procedures
- Assist surgeons during a variety of cases including open hearts, orthopedic, and medical surgeries
- Maintain sterile technique and support the surgical team throughout each procedure
- Document patient care and surgical activities accurately in EPIC
- Respond to on-call needs to support the OR team when urgent cases arise
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in a busy OR department
- Current BLS certification
- DCI/BVP certification
- EPIC experience required
- Ability to take call: one night every 2 weeks and one weekend every 6 weeks
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
- Familiarity with open heart, orthopedic, and general surgical procedures
- Proficient with EPIC electronic medical records
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
