Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform dental prophylaxis and periodontal therapy to promote oral health
• Assess patients' oral health and document findings in electronic health records
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
• Take and develop dental x-rays as needed for diagnosis
• Assist the dentist during procedures by providing chairside support
• Sterilize instruments and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
• Current CPR certification (BLS)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Education

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing
• Knowledge of dental software and electronic health records
• Understanding of infection control protocols and OSHA standards
• Excellent patient education and chairside manner
• Attention to detail and manual dexterity
