Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients during labor and delivery
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, intervening as needed
• Assist physicians and midwives with deliveries, including cesarean sections
• Educate and support mothers and families through the birthing process
• Administer medications and IV therapies per orders
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in Connecticut
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN/Fetal Heart Monitoring certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Labor and Delivery experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in labor and delivery nursing
• Proficiency in fetal heart monitoring interpretation
• Strong maternal and newborn assessment skills
• Ability to remain calm and focused in emergency situations
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
