Candidate Pay Rate: $66 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients
  • Monitor and assess patient conditions, recognizing subtle changes and responding quickly
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as ordered
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the healthcare team to optimize outcomes
  • Educate and support families through difficult moments
  • Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety standards
  • Participate in resuscitation efforts and emergency response when needed
  • Advocate for the unique needs of each child and family

Qualifications

  • Current Massachusetts RN license or compact license eligibility
  • BLS certification required
  • PALS certification required
  • Previous pediatric ICU or critical care experience strongly preferred
  • BSN preferred but not required
  • Strong critical thinking and assessment skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
  • Compassionate, family-centered approach to care

Knowledge & Skills

  • Pediatric critical care assessment and monitoring
  • Ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
  • Medication administration, including high-alert pediatric drugs
  • Electronic health record documentation
  • Family-centered communication and education
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and pediatric advanced life support
  • Collaboration within interdisciplinary care teams
