Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, specialized nursing care to pediatric patients in the PACU
• Monitor vital signs, assess recovery from anesthesia, and intervene when needed
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the care team to ensure safe patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and discharge instructions
• Accurately document patient status, medications, and responses to treatment
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and initiate emergency protocols as needed

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Ohio or a compact state
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• PALS certification strongly preferred
• Minimum of 1-2 years of PACU or critical care experience preferred
• Pediatric clinical experience highly desirable

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of pediatric anesthesia recovery and post-operative care
• Proficient in patient assessment, monitoring, and emergency response
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and team members
• Comfortable using electronic health records (EHR) and documenting accurately
