Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, specialized perioperative nursing care to pediatric patients across the surgical continuum
• Assist the surgical team during operative procedures, ensuring a safe and sterile environment
• Assess, monitor, and advocate for pediatric patients before, during, and after surgery
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and fellow nurses to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families throughout the surgical experience
• Maintain meticulous documentation and uphold the highest standards of patient safety

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio
• Current BLS certification required
• PALS certification strongly preferred
• Previous OR or perioperative nursing experience preferred
• Pediatric nursing experience a plus
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented surgical environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of surgical aseptic technique and sterile field management
• Familiarity with surgical instruments, equipment, and OR protocols
• Excellent critical thinking and clinical assessment skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
