Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical-surgical and perioperative nursing care for acutely ill adult patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and implement individualized care plans
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the OR team to ensure safe perioperative transitions
• Administer medications and advanced life support interventions as required
• Monitor patient status using evidence-based practice and escalate concerns promptly
• Educate patients and families about post-operative care and recovery expectations
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record and maintain clear communication with multidisciplinary team members

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered Oregon RN license required upon submission
• BLS (AHA Healthcare Provider) required
• ACLS required
• NIHSS certification required
• Experience in Medical-Surgical Nursing and Operating Room (OR) preferred
• Specialty certification in Medical-Surgical Nursing strongly encouraged and supported

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medical-surgical assessment and clinical judgment skills
• Perioperative and OR experience and familiarity with surgical workflows
• Knowledge of ACLS protocols and NIHSS stroke assessment
• Proficient documentation skills in electronic health records
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to prioritize care in a fast-paced, acute surgical setting
