Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered care to pediatric patients on the med/surg unit
• Assess, plan, and implement nursing care for children with a variety of medical and surgical conditions
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Monitor vital signs and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and adjust care plans
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions
• Document patient care thoroughly and in a timely manner
• Advocate for the unique needs of each child and family

Qualifications

• Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
• BLS certification required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
• Experience in pediatric med/surg nursing is a plus
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills
• Ability to work flexibly on a per diem basis

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of pediatric growth and development
• Skill in medication administration and IV therapy
• Understanding of pediatric assessment and early warning signs
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach
• Strong documentation and EHR skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient needs
