Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals on a general medicine unit
• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as ordered
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, noting any changes and responding promptly
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans
• Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and post-discharge care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and progress

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Illinois or compact state
• BLS certification required (AHA or equivalent)
• Experience in medical-surgical or general medicine nursing preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and every third weekend
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of general medicine nursing practices and protocols
• Skilled in patient assessment, medication administration, and IV therapy
• Comfortable using electronic health records and documentation systems
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and empathy for patients and families
