Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to medical-surgical patients, monitoring vital signs and responding to changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered, ensuring patient safety and comfort
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on condition management and discharge instructions
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Iowa (or compact license)
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• NIHSS certification (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• Minimum 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in BLS and NIHSS protocols
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients
• Knowledge of medical-surgical nursing standards and practices
• Comfortable with electronic health records and documentation
