Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide excellent labor and delivery nursing care, including continuous fetal monitoring and hands-on support during labor
• Manage postpartum care for moms and newborns with compassionate, evidence-based practice
• Perform accurate and timely documentation in Meditech Expanse and CPN Connect
• Assist with procedures performed on the unit (C-sections, versions, circumcisions) and coordinate perioperative care when needed
• Collaborate with nursery/NICU teams for infant transfers and provide STABLE/NICU support as appropriate
• Maintain patient safety and high-quality outcomes through EFM interpretation, clinical assessment, and appropriate escalation
• Contribute to a positive patient experience by offering patient-centered care (doulas and massage therapy available on request)

Qualifications

• Current RN license (must be eligible to work in NH or hold appropriate compact license)
• Minimum 2 years of recent L&D and postpartum (PP) nursing experience
• Required certifications: NRP, C-EFM, BLS
• Optional/desired certifications: STABLE, PALS
• Experience with Meditech Expanse documentation and CPN Connect preferred
• Comfortable supporting procedures such as C-sections, external cephalic version, and circumcisions
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and adapt to floating assignments

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) and fetal heart tracing interpretation
• Proficiency documenting in Meditech Expanse and using CPN Connect
• Skilled in postpartum assessment, newborn care, and basic neonatal stabilization
• Familiarity with unit equipment: EFM, infusion pumps, labor/birth beds
• Ability to work in 1-2:1 L&D ratio and manage PP/GYN patient loads
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient experience focus
