Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, expert care to mothers and babies throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vitals, responding quickly to any changes to ensure safe deliveries
• Assist with deliveries, C-sections, and emergency interventions while keeping patients and families informed and comforted
• Collaborate with obstetricians, nurse practitioners, and the care team to create and adjust birth plans
• Educate new parents on newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery to help them feel confident at home

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Louisiana or a compact state
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• NRP certification required for Labor & Delivery
• Previous L&D experience preferred, but passionate new grads are welcome to apply

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of labor and delivery procedures, fetal monitoring, and neonatal resuscitation
• Ability to stay calm and focused in high-pressure situations
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Team player with a flexible, can-do attitude
