Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to mothers and infants during labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vitals, promptly responding to changes
• Assist with deliveries, including cesarean sections, and provide newborn resuscitation if needed
• Educate patients and families on labor progression, pain management, and newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and nurses to ensure safe, positive birth experiences

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted RN license in Virginia
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor and Delivery experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of obstetric emergencies and interventions
• Proficient in fetal monitoring interpretation
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
