Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to critically ill patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU).
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, responding quickly to changes and emergencies.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as ordered.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or compact license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Previous ICU or critical care experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and provide compassionate care

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of critical care equipment such as ventilators, monitors, and infusion pumps
• Understanding of hemodynamic monitoring and advanced cardiac life support
• Skilled in emergency response and rapid assessment
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Proficient in electronic health records and documentation
