Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert emergency and trauma nursing care in a Level 2 trauma center
• Triage patients with varying acuity and prioritize care in a fast-paced environment
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and utilize advanced equipment such as level 1 fluid warmers and Alaris pumps
• Collaborate with physicians, unit secretaries, and techs to ensure seamless patient care
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech and follow AIDET protocols for excellent patient experience
• Respond to STEMI, stroke, and sepsis activations with timely, evidence-based interventions

Qualifications

• Current Kansas RN license
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Level 2 trauma center
• Must hold ACLS, BLS, ENPC or PALS, TNCC, and NIH certifications
• CEN or TCRN certification preferred
• CPI certification preferred
• Positive attitude and a 'can do' culture fit

Knowledge & Skills

• Trauma care, STEMI care, stroke care, sepsis management, and triage
• Proficiency with Meditech documentation and GE monitoring systems
• Skilled in using Lifepak, Artic sun, and Alaris pumps
• Strong critical thinking and prioritization skills
• Knowledge of AIDET and whiteboard communication for patient experience
