Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage, assess, and prioritize patients presenting in the emergency department with urgent and emergent conditions
• Administer medications, start IVs, and perform emergency procedures with confidence
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to stabilize and treat critically ill patients
• Monitor patient status, recognize subtle changes, and respond quickly to changing conditions
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
• Educate patients and families on follow-up care, medications, and discharge instructions

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted RN license in Louisiana or a compact state
• Current BLS certification (AHA or equivalent) required
• ACLS and PALS certifications strongly preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of emergency department nursing experience preferred
• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure, fast-paced situations

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency triage and patient assessment skills
• Knowledge of emergency medications, equipment, and procedures
• Excellent critical thinking and ability to prioritize quickly
• Comfortable working with high-acuity patients of all ages
• Clear communication and teamwork skills for coordinating with the ED team
