Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients in a behavioral health unit
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses to treatment
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care
• Engage in therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques to ensure a safe environment
• Document patient progress accurately and maintain compliance with regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Experience in behavioral health or psychiatric nursing preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to remain calm and effective in crisis situations

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of psychiatric nursing principles and evidence-based practices
• Ability to perform thorough patient assessments
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Understanding of mental health disorders and treatment modalities
• Skill in administering and monitoring psychotropic medications
